5 TV Series About Spiritual Awakening

One of my favourite forms of storytelling is TV series!

I actually did my Master’s degree in Film & TV and my dissertation topic was about the culture of narcissism in relation to sitcoms as I examined How I Met Your Mother.

Movies are great. Books are lovely. But there’s something fascinating about creating something so simple, yet so spectacular – a TV show – that keeps viewers and fans engaged for multiple seasons, because that’s how much they believe in your vision or the alchemy between the main characters.

Here are 5 TV series that use the power of storytelling to the max to show us what a spiritual awakening looks and feel like – and also what it changes for us!

TV SERIES 1: THE GOOD PLACE

The Good Place uses the element of surprise to invite us into a faraway world that seems to resemble our world a lot – it turns out Earth’s got a lot of problems.

This show teaches us that we have the power to create positive change on Earth, so long as we remember to start with our own self-growth.

Philosophy and finding a way to think for yourself might be a good first step!

TV SERIES 2: The Wheel of Time

Once more, The Wheel of Time takes us by surprise, or rather the main characters, who are invited on a big journey out of their comfort zone. A journey that promises to teach them more about their own inherent gifts and empower them to save the world!

Well, the spiritual awakening feels a lot like that…

One day, everything you know no longer makes sense and you begin an adventure designed to bring you back home within where all the answers and magic can be found.

TV SERIES 3: Sense8

Speaking of magic, Sense8 showed us some of the talents, powers and gifts humans have when they believe in their inner guidance and pursue what they are being called to pursue.

Will there be resistance? Yes.

Will it be worth it? 100%.

Is it all pre-destined anyway? Quite possibly.

We cannot escape our own destiny, even if we try to or others try to delay, detour or distract us.

We are here to do big things with our existence. All of us! Especially when we learn to work together and apply our essence into teamwork.

TV SERIES 4: Westworld

Much like The Good Place, Westworld gives us a glimpse of both worlds:

  • The Good Place – the pretty illusion

  • The Bad Place – the corrupted reality

And once you see through the illusion, it’s hard to go back to pretending.

That’s what happens when we awaken spiritually, too.

It’s almost impossible to go back to the life we had previously, because we are ready to experience more and willing to do the work necessary to make it happen.

TV SERIES 5: Good Omens

Maybe we will never have all of the answers, but maybe we don’t need to have them, because there are Beings in charge of holding those answers for us in a time of need.

Good Omens introduces us to some of our Spirit Team or Spirit Guides while it depicts the best and the worst of the realms we cannot access during our time on Earth.

The show brings balance to the way we depict Hell and Heaven, as it paints a picture of what it actually takes to run the world and restore peace across the Universe.

Another fascinating TV series for those hungry for more answers!

NOTABLE MENTIONS

What would you add to the list?

Few more TV series that come to mind are:

  • Heroes

  • Merlin

  • Fringe

  • Supernatural

  • Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender

  • Ghost Whisperer

  • Lucifer

Sometimes our spiritual awakening is about getting clarity on our purpose and being of service to humanity within the established industries.

Other times we awaken spiritually, so that we can remember what we are capable of in terms of our psychic abilities and spiritual gifts.

Not everyone who awakens has to experience the magic in its full mysticism or power, but you will 100% change the way you view the world and that’s a good thing.

What comes next will be a life that allows you to become a mighty storyteller and lead others who will be experience what you just went through!
